Introduction of new members. . KEEPER OF YE MINUTES: MARK ULANOWICZ (if you cannot attend, please call so that we can get another volunteer) 7:35-7:45 Comparative Religion: A Complete Discourse in Five Minutes by None Other Than Our Own Father O'Connor Announcement by the Very Reverend and Irreverend Father O'Connor: Natural and Unnatural Acts The Natural Step--A Conference at the Nike Conference Center on June 6 for $125. Joell and Jolinda--The Return of the Archetypes (in full-screen VistaVision with wraparound sound)-April 29, 1997 7:45-8:30 REPORTS Marsha Astaire Spellman--Report on Second Program of Series--The Users: Digital Telecom Services for Your Home and Business (held at St. Vincent's Hospital Auditorium from 5:30-7:30 on Tuesday, April 8--we hope all Tech & Biz members who could attend did!) (Desired Outcome-- To make us all aware of how our major project on telecommunications is doing) Stanford (the man not the school) Davis--A House Is Not a Home and a Web Site Is Not a Domain (What's in a name? A URL by any other name would smell as sweet.) (Desired Outcome--To decide whether we should go for a domain) Grandfather Smith on meeting with Doug Marker and what happened at the last Issue Committee Chairs Meeting (Desired Outcome--To see what happened with our input from last meeting and to explore further what (if anything) we would like to do as a committee to help revitalize the City Club) 8:30-8:59 Wide-Ranging Discussion (Desired Outcome--To explore what our tacit guidelines are and to decide whether we should make them explicit) What are our Group Guidelines for the Tech & Biz Committee--"the common assumptions we hold about meeting together?" Definition: "A collective agreement on the behaviors the group believes are necessary to create quality outcomes." (We seem to have established our own culture, and it may now be a good idea to state what it is.) Examples from other teams: Start and stop on time/ Allow humor and passion/ Honor commitments/ Create an atmosphere that encourages input/ Clear goals and objectives, etc., etc., etc. Things to be thinking about: How do you feel about our committee? Do you find your membership worthwhile? What should our role be? Suggestions for improvement? (It's difficult, in my opinion, to create group guidelines unless you have a pretty good idea of the role or purpose of the group.) CONFESSION: Desired Outcomes and Group Guidelines are part of a homework assignment in a course Carol Sturdivant and I are attending on tools of the learning organization, conducted by Micah Fierstein. (In addition, it seemed apropos to express them in this Agenda, based on our discussion at the last meeting.) 8:59-9:00 O'Connor on Mutton--The silence of the clones.
