Further, if the paper record spans several pages, it is not sufficient to have the last page marked as the end because a user seeing only page 1 would not know that the end marker was missing, and hence would not see a clear indication that a page 2 exists. Each page should be numbered not as "page M" but as "page M of N"; the last page is thus not a special case.
