Also possibly folks in Longmont, Lyons or Louisville due to recent successes there. The committee will review the ideas and decisions will be made at the next PBC meeting. Matt reported on the US 36 saga and recent decisions. Bruce moved and Jeanette seconded that Matt write up a PBC position including these five points: Want 70 million extra for rail to beef up starter package Don't want the general purpose lanes Look at buying BNSF tracks Want package deal with rail done at the same time Don't want hot lanes Approved 9-1-0 with Jane dissenting On the Open Space/Mountain Parks reorganization, Matt moved and Jeannette seconded that we send the letter drafted by Linda/Joni/Bruce with minor changes: 2 Deep personnel reductions: take out "the production of", and change "diminishing" to "sacrificing" essential land management services. Unanimous approval. We briefly discussed the South Boulder Creek floodway study. This is a very important, very complex issue which we should be more involved in. There are problems with both the process and the environmental impact. PBC should help clarify the issues and educate the public. Jeannette will draft a letter after talking to Claire and Gilbert. On the GOCO funding shift, Bruce & Jeanette will talk to Ruth Wright to make a proposal for what PBC should do.
