For US$10.00 you can have access to all content in SCIENCE Online for 24 hours. At any point when you are prompted to sign in to SCIENCE Online, select the "Science Online Site Pass" option.
After performing a search in SCIENCE Online, you can perform the same search in other journals through the "pulldown menu" at the top of the search result page entitled "Try this search in:..." Selecting a journal title and clicking the "Search" button will start a search using the previously specified criteria in the selected journal.
In 1999, we will offer the ability to perform one search which will be applied to multiple online journals in a single step.
When an article in SCIENCE Online cites an article which has been published by another journal published with the assistance of HighWire Press, hyperlinks have been created which allow you to move from the original article to the Abstract of the cited article. Likewise, links have been created to allow users of other HighWire Press journals to quickly and easily access SCIENCE Online articles. [List of Participating Journals]
These Inter-Journal links take you to the Abstract of the cited reference. Access to the full text of the cited article will be subject to the subscription policies of the other journal. In some cases, limited free access may be granted to allow you free use of the single article which was cited by the original article.
| Until this new service is available, please use the new Experimental Medline / PubMed search system available from the National Center for Biotechnology Information. |
The PubMed search system provides access to the PubMed database of bibliographic information, which is drawn primarily from Medline and PreMedline. In addition, for participating journals that are indexed selectively for Medline, PubMed includes all articles from that journal, not just those that are included in Medline. Finally, PubMed also provides access to the molecular biology databases included in NCBI's Entrez retrieval system. It is expected that access to additional National Library of Medicine databases will be added in the future.

If your citation manager does not support import of Medlars format, you may still use the Download function. After saving the citation to your local disk, open the citation file and manually copy/paste the information in the file into the appropriate fields in your personal bibliographic database.
A "thumbnail" -- a small version -- of each figure or equation appears in the text. In most cases, these thumbnails are sufficient to permit you to decide if you want to see the larger version(s).
Medium-Sized Images:
Clicking on a thumbnail opens a second window in your browser that displays a larger version of a table or figure, as well as the complete text of the figure's caption. You don't need any additional software to view this medium-size image.
Large, High-Resolution Images:
To view a high-resolution version of a figure, click on the medium-sized image or the link to "[View Larger Version of this Image]". Browsers can be used to view high-resolution images, but we recommend using a helper application instead. Read about obtaining and configuring a graphics viewer under the appropriate section: Macintosh, Windows, or Unix.
Please see Help with Printing for more detailed information.

You have several choices as to the number of "closest matches" retrieved.
