Something we all prayed for in school before we learned that church and state must be separated. The thrill remains, but the legs seem to tire more quickly and don't handle the ice as well. We had another good turnout for our last meetng on January 8, and we had a substantial number of guests, many from Dick's organization, the Association of General Contractors. We knew they weren't regular members because they arrived at 7:15 a.m. for a 7:30 a.m. meeting. Thanks go to our committee members for bringing outside folks in; they helped make a lively meeting. Dan Abbott and Steve Tupper, from the training department of Morse Bros., gave us an excellent presentation of what a first-class education and training program can accomplish in an organization. Dan and Steve also use some learning organization approaches; so the learning organization theme continues. Kurt Krause and his accomplices are readying our series of science breakfasts, and we are on track (I think) for our first breakfast on February 26 (the fourth Thursday) at the Benson Hotel. Subsequent breakfasts will follow on the fourth Thursday of each month thereafter from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. We hope to start with a brain teaser in neuroscience, thence to cloning, on to wine, ending on a hi-tech note. So-----mark your calendars. We will not have regular committee meetings henceforth and forevermore on the fourth Thursday of the month. But keep the date open for the science breakfasts starting in February. Happy sledding! Duncan
